This Sunday the traditional Evangelical tea, where the bishops called for peace and unity in the country. They also remembered the victims of Covid-19 and health officials.
A Thanksgiving different from other years, as it had fewer guests and was held outdoors. The nearly 50 participants to this ceremony came to the Alianza Cristiana y Misionera de Las Condes church, including the president Sebastian Piñera and some of his ministers.
In the ceremony, it was requested by Chile and especially by the victims of the coronavirus and health workers. This was pointed out by Javier Espinoza, secretary of the National Council of Bishops.
The situation of The Araucanía. Jose Rivas, moderator of the Pastoral Forum, said that the State must guarantee the life and safety of the people.
Another of the points present was the constituent plebiscite October 25. Pastor Emiliano Soto, president of the Expanded Table of Evangelical and Protestant Entities of Chile, said that they hope this is a process that takes place in peace.
Thus, the celebrations of the National Holidays began with strict health protocols as a result of the pandemic. Next Friday 18 will be the Ecumenical tea on the San Cristóbal hill, where it will also have a capacity of 50 people.
