This week, 410 sanitary summaries instructed the Health Ministry of the Valparaíso Region for transfers to second homes.

These trips have been prohibited in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infections.

As part of the inspection plan prior to National Holidays, the Armed and Law Enforcement Forces, together with health personnel, have intensified controls on roads and urban centers in the Fifth Region.

“This week we have controlled more than 723 thousand vehicles (…). Only for the concept of a second home we have started 410 sanitary summaries “ reported this Sunday the seremi of Health, Francisco Álvarez.

Violators are concentrated in the communes of Papudo and Puchuncaví (Maitencillo), and risk sanctions ranging from 0.1 to 1,000 UTM.

The objective of these audits “is to prevent the maximum number of people from coming from other regions to their second homes. And the call is for these people not to come, because they are going to have a hard time. They are going to be controlled, the summary is going to be initiated, they may be exposed to fines of up to $ 50 million and they are going to have to be returned, ”the seremi warned.

As an additional measure, Between 6 p.m. on Thursday 17 and 11 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, a sanitary cordon will be implemented in Greater Valparaíso.

With new control points, entry and exit in Viña del Mar and Valparaíso will be restricted. Both communes lead the active cases in the area – with 400 and 492 active cases, respectively – and remain in quarantine since Friday, June 12.
