A valuable starter managed to reap the Real Betis by Manuel Pellegrini in the Spanish league this Sunday. The cast of “Engineer”, which had Claudio Bravo as headline, won 1-0 in his visit to Alavés on the first date of the championship.

The meeting began with rhythm, where both teams searched the rival goal with more enthusiasm than solid ideas to deepen and disturb in each arc. The first chance to score came in six minutes, when the experienced Joaquín warned with a timid header for Betis that Fernando Pacheco contained without problems.

The locals tried to overcome the actions of the game by grouping people in the middle of the court, but the plan did not turn out as expected and those directed by Pablo Machín they abused the long pitch to search unsuccessfully for Lucas Pérez up front.

With the passing of the minutes, it was the visit that took possession of the ball and thus forced Alavés to move away from Claudio Bravo’s goal. After half an hour of play, Guido Rodríguez was encouraged with a powerful right hand that crashed into the crossbar of the arch guarded by Pacheco.

After the first hydration break, the homeowners tried to get comfortable on the pitch, looking for the opening of the scoreboard. However, Betis had not calmed their anxieties and near the end of the first half they had another chance to take the lead with a good combination between Nabil Fekir, Emerson and Sergio Canales.

With the start of the second half, Alavés wanted to be more of a protagonist than his rival. It was thus that the Argentine Rodrigo Battaglia had the clearest chance to score the first goal of the commitment in a header, but was met with a superb response from Bravo to maintain parity in the figures.

The stopped ball plays began to gain relevance on the court, with Canales once again being the one who could have converted a goal at 59 ‘from a dangerous free kick, but his left-footed shot again hit the horizontal of the local goal.

Through that proposal from both teams it was difficult to predict a winner. Pellegrini’s changes sought to give Betis new airs, something that he achieved with the entry of Cristián Tello at 82 ‘ by William Carvalho. It was the Spanish attacker himself who at 90 + 4 ‘found the ball in the area, adjusted the shot and ended up marking the only achievement of the commitment.

Thanks to the victory, Betis added its first three units in the new season of Spanish football. His next challenge in the contest will be to receive Valladolid next September 21.

Alavés meanwhile, was left with the bitterness of not being able to impose the locality and let slip the victory in discounts. The “Babazorros” will have to raise their heads for whatever their match against Granada, on Sunday 20.
