The Seremi de Salud and the Hanga de Roa Hospital in Rapa Nui, confirmed four positive cases of covid-19, corresponding to people who returned from the continent on September 2.

The information was delivered in a statement where they specify that the infected have no symptoms and they are conducting preventive quarantine in their homes.

The detection was achieved thanks to the taking of PCR tests by Epidemiology personnel of the Seremi de Salud and the Hanga Roa Hospital, to the 262 passengers.

To date, 298 PCR tests, of which 75 of them have been processed.

From the healthcare facility they called the community to calm down and requested that the already known preventive measures be taken to the extreme.

The Government of Easter Island, for its part, indicated that “the addresses where these people are are with 24-hour surveillance, which is carried out by personnel from the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement and Security, in order to ensure that the quarantine is not broken “.

The island is currently in the Preparation stage of the Step by Step plan.
