The Electoral Service (Servel) announced that it will need around 15 thousand people in 2,715 polling places to act as “facilitators” for the constitutional plebiscite of October 25.

Therefore, the Servel opened an application process where interested parties must fill out a form and, if accepted, will receive a sum of $ 71 thousand.

What are the access requirements? Be Chilean or foreigner with the right to vote, not have political affiliation, have a certificate of background, have a personal cell phone and have a checking account, sight or RUT in your name.

What days should they be held? On October 10, when will be the test run; on October 24, when the constitution of tables is carried out; and on October 25, when the installation and voting is done.

Which polling place will you have to go to if you are selected? As noted, it will be the same one you usually vote on.

What functions should they fulfill? Facilitate the entry of voters to the premises, prevent the consumption of food or
that people smoke in the lines and verify the physical distancing in the lines, according to the director of Servel, Patricio Santamaría.


Likewise, in the Official Gazette a document called “Sanitary protocol for a safer national plebiscite”, which defines the carrying out of campaign, training and communication events to the electorate, among other things.

The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Cristián Monckeberg, assured that the October vote, amid the pandemic, will be a litmus test.
