The Eighth Guarantee Court of Santiago added this Thursday new precautionary measures against Juan Sebastián Izquierdo, 32, leader of the far-right group “Revolutionary Capitalism”, who is being investigated for alleged attacks carried out in marches for the “Rejection” of a new Constitution.
Left and who would be his right hand in the aforementioned group, Roberto Belmar Vergara, 36, were formalized last August 13 for the crimes of less serious injuries and threats occurred in marches in February and March.
On that occasion, the court decreed nighttime house arrest, a ban on approaching the victims and rooting for both ultra-rightists, measures that this Thursday supplemented by adding the prohibition to participate in marches and public meetings, at the request of the Eastern Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation by the Public Ministry indicates Izquierdo as the organizer of two marches, which occurred on February 29 and March 9, in Providencia, where “they attacked different people in the context of the demonstration.”
“We are in the presence of a group that is organized in order to attack people,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
They must also comply with the precautionary measures of prohibition of approaching the victims, rooting and house arrest at night. We recall that they are charged with 5 crimes of less serious injuries and 2 crimes of amoema. @fiscaliaoriente
