The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies rejected the bill that regulated the state of alert for prevent damage to critical infrastructure.

The initiative did not reach a quorum in its second constitutional process, receiving 74 votes in favor, 63 against and two abstentions.

Thus, the draft constitutional reform will have to be analyzed in a Mixed Commission where a common agreement can be reached or rejected.

The reform had been dispatched to the Chamber with modifications regarding the concept of critical infrastructure, being limited only to those related to basic services -such as water, electricity, transportation, among others-, leaving out areas such as La Moneda, the Public Ministry or the Courts.

It should be remembered that the initiative was admitted on December 26, in response to the social outbreak.
