“The rule of law has been violated and we still do not see that the Government has taken effective actions to restore peace to us”. That is how the mayor of Cañete, Jorge Radonich, referred to the death of Moisés Orellana (21) -due to a head shot- after an arson attack that occurred at dawn this Tuesday.
In that sense, the community leader added that “The State is failing and has left its inhabitants aside. This exceeded all limits ”.
Likewise, Radonich pointed to the lack of vehicles by the uniformed police to go to emergencies, noting that “of the four vehicles available to the Carabineros, only two are operational“.
“Enough already”
For his part, the mayor of Bío Bío, Sergio Giacaman, lamented the death of the victim, indicating that they will file complaints and stated that “enough is enough in the Cañete commune. Neither in the commune of Santiago nor in Concepción is this level of violence warranted, nothing justifies getting to kill a person point-blank without having any justification “.
According to the first antecedents, the unknown persons shot Orellana in circumstances in which he shared with two friends, in a sector located 4 kilometers from the place where the arson attack took place.
Giacaman affirmed that together with the mayor of Cañete and the governor of Arauco, they spoke with the family of Moisés to commit support.
“We are interested that the mother, brother and sister of Moisés can receive all the support of the Government, convey our greatest condolences, as we did personally, and I believe that we have to move forward to end this situation of violence, “said the Mayor.
The facts
Sergio Giacaman, reported that the subjects reached the Laguna Grande Lloncao interior road sector, where they destroyed three houses, of which two were unoccupied.
In which it was inhabited, the strangers forced the inhabitants to leave, to then spray them with accelerating liquid and set them on fire.
While Giacaman stated that it is a situation that needs to be investigated, announced the filing of complaints.
