After the success of The pack, Amazon Prime Video once again worked with a national channel in the realization of a production that promises to cause a high impact.
Dignidad is the name of the new series produced in conjunction with Megamedia, which will tell the story of Colonia Dignidad and Paul Schäfer.
“Set in the south of Chile, the series tells the story of a mysterious Germanic cult called ‘Colonia dignidad’, founded by a former Nazi soldier, the late Paul Schäfer, and the complicated challenge for a young lawyer to bring it before the justice ”, explained from Mega in a statement.
The series Dignidad, eight chapters long and directed by the Chilean Julio Jorquera, will premiere in November both on open television and transmission for all Latin America.
Inspired by the true story lived by many children who were recruited, indoctrinated and abused in the town known as Villa Baviera, this fiction was made in Chile by the house of film and television productions, Invercine & Wood, and by the production company Story House Pictures from Germany, in co-production with the CNTV television fund and the Mega channel. Its global international distribution is in charge of Red Arrow Studios.
“With an international cast, Dignity it is set in the 90s, a period in which the news was made and the aberrant practices that took place in this German enclave in Chile, protected by the Pinochet dictatorship, were discovered ”, adds the statement.
The actors Götz Otto, Devid Striesow, Nils Rovira-Muñoz, Marcel Rodríguez, Jennifer Ulrich, Antonia Zegers and Martina Klier, are part of the talents that gave life to this thriller.

At Megamedia we are making an effort to bring premium series to the screen that allow us to place the viewer in front of places and characters that, although they are fictionalized, have a powerful substrate in the reality of our immediate past. Furthermore, we are very proud of this alliance with Amazon Prime Video as it will allow us to bring this series to a wider audience ”, expressed Juan Ignacio Vicente, Director of Content and International Business at Megamedia.
For its part, Pablo Lacoviello, Head of Latin America Content for Amazon Prime Video, said that “Amazon remains committed to providing great content to our Prime Video members throughout the region and we are very excited to bring such an exciting series as Dignity to the audience of Latin America”.
Finally, the director of the series, Julio Jorquera, made the following reflection on Dignity: “The search for a better future, a future that turns into hell, and a hell that is better to forget, is the crossroads of Leo Morales, the protagonist of the series, a lawyer in charge of capturing the Colonia Dignidad leader Paul Schäfer who, to achieve his goal, must first face his past. Dignity is a journey to the depths of a Chile, not so different from the one we live in today, where there is a past that needs to become transparent in order to move forward and rebuild ”.
