The president of the BancoEstado, Sebastián Sichel, spoke on Monday about the cyber attack suffered by the institution Therefore, some branches are closed and he added that they will not rest until they find those responsible.

Sichel started apologizing to customers of the BancoEstado that have seen the branches closed, in addition to asking for their patience.

“All we are doing is to protect your funds and give you peace of mind. that nothing has been affected from their accounts ”, clarified.

He explained that the entire process was due to “complying with protocols and security standards”, reiterating the apologies of the case.

“It is a virus that encrypts information from certain machines and computers and what we have done is not make those machines operational,” he added, explaining that they are in the process of recovering those computers.

In addition, he said that “the first information was on Saturday, we made the decision to download the systems, all the protocols were taken and we contacted experts to see how we unblocked and see how we gradually raise the bank’s services.”

“We are working with the best specialists in malware and this is our priority today, so that the branches reopen,” he added.

He assured that the website and the application of the Bank today are working normally.
