The former UDI presidential Pablo Longueira, who returned to the public eye last week, was the worst evaluated political character according to the latest survey by Plaza Pública Cadem, with a disapproval reaching 75 percent, versus 17 percent who support it.

Its aspiration to be a constituent and its criticism of unionism for campaigning for the Rejection -option for which he later confessed that he will vote-, in addition to his accusation of a “political persecution” behind the bribery charges that are imputed to him in the SQM case, were some of the sayings that marked his media reappearance.

Also under 40 percent approval is Senator RN Manuel José Ossandón with 37 percent, his lowest level since the Cadem series began in April 2018, all when he is investigated for influence peddling.

On the other hand, among the highest rated political figures in the measurement is the president of the Medical College, Izkia Sichez, who led the list with a 60 percent, surpassing the UDI presidential letter Joaquín Lavín, who obtained 58 percent.

Improved assessment of pandemic management

Meanwhile, the approval of President Sebastián Piñera rose one point compared to the last poll, reaching 19 percent, versus 72 percent who disapprove of his management. However, His Government’s handling of the pandemic reached its highest level since March, with 42 percent.

On the other hand, on the measures of the Executive before the National Holidays, 58 percent approved the granting of special permits during the holiday weekend and 57 percent agreed to allow meetings of up to 10 people, both points that are part of the now modified “Fondéate en tu casa” plan that, after criticism from different authorities, will only govern in communes outside quarantine.

In addition, 48 percent reject the deconfinement plan that is underway in dozens of communes in the country, and 45 percent agree.
