Coquimbo Kingdom confirmed this Sunday the hiring of Juan José Ribera as the new technical director.
The “Coto”, who was already in the pirate bank between 2015 and 2017, takes office after the poor results this season, which caused the dismissal from the coach German Corengia.
Ribera will take over the club at a difficult moment, one day after the hard defeat suffered against Universidad Católica in San Carlos de Apoquindo.
“We wish him much success in this new welcome to Juan José Ribera, hoping that your experience and the strength and courage of our port will lead you to overcome the difficult times we are going through, in such a way that we can soon leave the place where we are and do not deserve, “said the club in a statement.
Remember that Ribera was without a team since the end of 2019, after ending his relationship with Audax Italiano, a team he managed to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana.

JUAN JOSÉ RIBERA NUEVO DT AURINEGRO We welcome Juan José Ribera Fonseca to the PIRATA boat, who in the 2015/2016 season took over the helm of Buenos Aires being at the bottom of the Pirmera B tournament, with a team without adding wins at the end of the first round and 5 points from the penultimate place, which was no excuse to keep us in the category. In the next championship, captaining our boat took BARBÓN to third place in the 2016/2017 championship, which despite being annual did not have a prize to move up in a category or a league to qualify for promotion. In the last 2 years after emigrating from our institution, Juan José despite receiving his clients in 2018 in the last place in the First Division table, managed to finish in 10th position. In turn, the following tournament qualified his club for the 2020 version of the CONMEBOL South American Cup. We wish him much success in this new welcome to Juan José Ribera, hoping that his experience and the STRENGTH AND COURAGE of our port will lead him to overcome the difficult times we are going through, so that we can soon leave the place where we are and we don’t deserve. #Let’s Pirates🏴☠️
