Six communes in the Metropolitan region begin this Monday transition phase of deconfinement | National

Tomorrow, Monday, September 7, starting at 5 AM, the communes of Recoleta, La Cisterna, La Granja, San Joaquín, San Ramón and San Miguel.

This stage of the Government’s “Step by Step” plan has already been extended to another 22 communes in the capital.

The mayor of La Granja, Felipe Delpín, explained that the municipality has taken a series of measures to guarantee physical distancing, including communication campaigns, street demarcations, bus stops and municipal transport, aimed at older adults.

The communal authority called for joint responsibility to avoid future new restrictions.


Similar measures will be taken in La Cisterna. Mayor Santiago Rebolledo confirmed the demarcation of all commercial areas, in order to ensure one person for each square meter.

While the communal chief of San Ramón, Miguel Ángel Aguilera, reported on the deployment of inspection teams that will also fulfill an educational role towards the community.

In the case of Providencia, whose commune entered phase three of “transition” last Wednesday, Mayor Evelyn Matthei, highlighted the economic reactivation that the sector has had.

In the middle of an activity in Barrio Italia, the president of the Chilean Gastronomy Association, Máximo Picallo, made a positive assessment of the reopening of restaurants in communes in the “preparation” stage.

Other communes that have already entered phase three of the “Step by Step” plan are San José de Maipo, Ñuñoa, Las Condes and Vitacura.
