The worst is over, Joaquín Niemann might think. The Chilean scored his best card in the Tour Championship, the final tournament of the PGA, after the third day of the championship that takes place in East Lake, Atlanta. The national golfer made -3 on his Sunday round, improving by a wide margin what he had achieved in the first two days of the tournament.
Niemann started the day in the second shift, that is, in the lowest places of the championship that brings together the 30 best players of the season. The Chilean, who in the first rounds was +2 on both days, had a regular participation on Sunday, playing alongside Australian Marc Leishman.
And, decided, Joaco got better. After making par on each flag, on hole 7 he made his first birdie Sunday, something he would repeat at flags 10, 13 and 17, his day with the fewest shots under par. The only negative of the day was the spectrum which he regretted on the 16th hole, but that did not dampen his noticeable performance improvement.
In total, the best Chilean golfer in history, only 21 years old, rose positions compared to the beginning of the day and is ranked 23rd in the absence of the rest of the competitors finishing, with a score of -1.
