Seventeen people of different nationalities were arrested last night in a new clandestine party registered in the capital during the curfew, this time in a town in the Renca commune, after the residents’ complaint to the Carabineros.

“We managed to enter this place and confirm that it was indeed a party inside a city, where we were able to arrest 17 people,” said Captain Jonathan Villegas, from the Western Prefecture.

The party took place inside a common room of the place with abundant consumption of alcohol and loud music, which annoyed the neighbors. All the detainees are of legal age.

These 17 people were at the disposal of the North Central Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine whether to formalize them for violation of article 318 of the Penal Code, or to leave them summoned to testify.

On recent Friday a similar situation had occurred in the heart of Santiago, when 48 people were arrested at dawn after being discovered participating in a clandestine party in full curfew in the Matta neighborhood sector. Later, the police defined it as a “mega narco party” that was part of an organized, paid-for event that included dancing, music, alcohol and drugs.
