Flash is a rescue dog who works with the “Chilean moles” amid the debris left by the explosion that affected Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on August 4.

The dog has been highlighted in various international media, after the nationals detected signs of life under the rubble of a building, being alerted precisely by Flash.

“A rescue dog and the hope of a miracle captivate Beirut,” the New York Times headlined for example, noting that “a Chilean search team and Flash, his dog, discovered what appeared to be a heartbeat under the debris from the 4 August explosion in the port. “

In addition, they noted that an artist named Ivan Debs created an illustration of the dog. “We have a lot to learn from him,” the illustrator wrote on Twitter.

Other international media, such as Al Jazeera, have also highlighted the contribution of the dog and the “Chilean moles” in the area.

Unfortunately, in the last hours the Lebanese outlet The 961 reported that Flash was injured in the middle of the search work. According to the website, he will not be able to resume his mission for now until he is fully recovered.

“Flash, the Chilean rescue dog, who detected signs of life under the rubble of Mar Mikhael two days ago, was injured during a search operation today,” wrote journalist Sama Dizayee on Twitter.

“Flash, a Chilean rescue dog, was pulled from the rubble site as he was injured today in Mar Mikhael during a search operation. He was transferred to a veterinarian in Beirut for treatment,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lebanese volunteers and the “Chilean moles” continue to work in search efforts in the country’s capital.
