Matías Zaldivia is out for the Superclásico against Universidad de Chile | Dale Albo

Matías Zaldivia cut the cruciate ligament in his left knee in August of last year. An injury that left him out for a long time and, if we add to that the social outbreak and coronavirus, his return time took longer than normal.

Against Santiago Wanderers he returned to the title and, when Esteban Paredes left the field, the Argentine remained as the captain of the Cacique, establishing himself as a benchmark within the squad.

However, his poor performance against the Caturro team made him question his ownership and until today he was not safe in the starting eleven for the Superclásico this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. against Universidad de Chile at the National Stadium.

Despite that, according to the journalist Marcelo Muñoz from CDF, Matías Zaldivia will not be present at the Superclásico due to an annoyance in his twin, which was not surpassed by the Argentine.

With his absence, the final pair of centrals will be Julio Barroso, who returns to the title and Juan Manuel Insaurralde, another strongly criticized in the Cacique for what happened against Santiago Wanderers.
