Criticism of the “Fondéate en tu casa” plan continues
Despite the fact that the Government clarified again that its measures for the National Holidays do not imply a lifting of the quarantine, Patricio meza, Vice President of the Medical College, rejected the promotion of the plan “Fondéate en tu casa”.
“Instead of discussing how we are going to celebrate the 18th, (we ask) to say that Let’s take advantage of the 18th to be able to stay in our homes. It is a measure that we do not share, we believe that we must follow super strict in this, “he explained.
The union representative also discarded the Executive’s argument that despite everything, people will not respect the restrictions during the holiday: “That is not the case. We sincerely call on people to we are aware of the risks we run“.
In that sense, he insisted that despite the recent stabilization of the figures “there is also an important number, and hopefully we will never get used to not noticing that, that day by day we are seeing a significant number of patients as a result of Covid“.
In fact, the latest Minsal report released the record of more than 200 new cases in Magallanes, which experienced a major outbreak a few weeks ago. Therefore, the mayor of Punta Arenas, Claudio Radonich, called “contradictory” the government plan in Cooperative since if there are several communes in the country under strict confinement, “of course we have to be very clear and do not raise these exceptions“.
Hospital de Concepción foresees an increase in demand
Another figure that has attracted attention at the regional level was that of Concepción, which this last week exceeded 13 percent contagion, so the director of the Regional Hospital of Concepción, Carlos Capurro, warned an increase in the demand for beds, since after detecting the new cases “between five and ten days will be the possibility of demanding beds, whether basic, medium or ICU.”
“We have 64 ICU beds, and of those 36 we had them exclusively for Covid (…) but knowing the situation that has been occurring for about 15 days and that this week the contagion has remained high, we are preparing to incorporate six more beds“, Held.
