The deputy PPD, Cristina Girardi, presented a bill which establishes that educational establishments in the year 2021 cannot force students to wear school uniforms.
The initiative aims to provide aid to families, avoiding imposing extra spending on the homes of children or adolescents, which according to the last Family Budget Survey, imposes an average expenditure of $ 72,566 on households.
“Along with other members of the Education Commission We are presenting a bill to propose that during the year 2021, when we hope to be able to carry out the return to classes that the uniform is not required, “said Girardi.
“We know that this pandemic has had a brutal impact in terms of job loss, decreased family income and We believe that enforcing something that does not do to education, such as the uniform, would be nonsense“, he stressed.
The parliamentary motion also has the support of Juan Santana (P.S), Rodrigo Gonzalez (PPD), Camila vallejo (PERSONAL COMPUTER), Camila Rojas (Common) and Florcita Alarcon (PH), among others.
