In the place 10 fire companies worked and close to 80 volunteers to control the flames and evacuate the more than 70 inhabitants of the place.
Luis Velásquez, second commander of the Santiago Fire Department, reported that “the fire affected two apartments on the seventh floor, leaving everything destroyed. As a result of this incident, a person who could not leave his apartment“.

Velasquez reported that “11 persons were attended by SAMU Staff for smoke inhalation, but they are already well. “
Meanwhile, the Fire Department investigation unit is investigating the causes of the fire, while the Central Criminalistics Laboratory of the PDI (Lacrim) carries out expert reports on the only fatal victim.
