Government extends State of Catastrophe until September 25 for National Holidays | National

On Thursday morning, the Government announced the extension of the State of Catastrophe until Friday, September 25, which will start from Monday 14.

That so have a curfew during the National Holidays, a measure that will be advanced in those days at 9:00 p.m. as indicated by the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris.

The extension was communicated by the Minister of the Interior, Víctor Pérez, in statements to Radio Cooperativa.

“We particularly have a concern in National Holidays and since we want the plebiscite to be as safe as possible, all the experts and the indicators show us that during National Holidays we must take special care to avoid major outbreaks, ”he said in the contact.

“We all know how Chileans like to celebrate National Holidays, we like to go to the ramadas, we like to go out and that can generate difficulties in the pandemic (…) we have a democratic process to take care of ”, he explained.

“Foothold at home”

In its balance sheet on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced a series of restrictive measures around September 18 in the context of the health crisis.

The initiative, called “Crash at home”, prohibits the transfer to second homes, does not lift quarantines and includes imposition of sanitary cords in the regions of Valparaíso, Metropolitana, Gran Concepción, Temuco and Padre Las Casas.

The plan too cancel the holding of ramadas or mass events and it only allows family reunions between September 18 and 20, for which a permit must be requested that will only last six hours.

Specifically, these meetings may not exceed five participants, in addition to the people who reside in the home; or all ten if you are in an open space.
