The National Emergency Office (Onemi) called on the population of the Metropolitan region to stay at home because of the danger that the toxic cloud can pose that has been reported in much of the capital.

As reported by the agency, after people reported the smell of gas in different communes, Firefighters began to search for the origin of this without having results until this Wednesday morning.
Currently, health authorities, the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuel and the Onemi Regional team are deployed on the ground to determine the causes of what happened.
“Toxic cloud”
Since Tuesday night, social media users reported a strong smell of gas that was perceived in different parts of the capital.
According to what is indicated by these, the smell has been present in communes such as Central Station, San Miguel, Cerrillos, Santiago Centro, Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Ñuñoa, San Joaquín, Providencia, among other.

Likewise, the Delegation of the Province of Santiago indicated that the Metropolitan South Fire Department reported that it would be a “toxic cloud” that is moving between communes, originating in the western sector of the capital.
