Jorge Messi, father and representative of FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, is already in the Catalan capital to negotiate the future of the player, who last week informed the club of his intention not to wear the Barça shirt again.
Jorge Messi landed at El Prat airport first thing in the morning and he is scheduled to meet with the president of FC Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, on Wednesday, in search of an agreement to terminate the contract of the Argentine star.
“There is nothing yet. I did not speak with Pep (Guardiola) nor did I speak with anyone,” Jorge Messi replied when asked about the possibility of the ’10’ signing for Manchester City.
“Difficult, difficult,” he added when asked about the possibility of continuing at the culé club.
The ’10’, who is also the current captain of the Barça team, asked the club last week, through a burofax, for the letter of freedom to be able to sign for another team.
Barça, on the other hand, wants him to fulfill the year that remains of his contract and refers to his termination clause (700 million euros) since, according to he assures, he could only leave free if he communicated it before June 10.
