This Monday the DC delivered a 24-hour ultimatum for the Government to resolve the mobilization of transporters, mainly due to the shortage problems that it has brought to the country.

“Having met the deadline that we have given to solve the serious situation in which the country finds itself due to the stoppage of truckers, I have asked Gabriel Ascencio, deputy of the bench, to begin the drafting of the text of the constitutional accusation,” he said the head of bench DC, Daniel Verdessi.
And noted that “Obviously the law has been broken here, the State’s Internal Security Law – which was to be applied – and several other laws have not been applied: the Anti-Barricade Law, which was a presidential message. We have reached a point where a week has passed and Mr. José Villagrán has challenged the Government, he has challenged authority and simply we will not be on our knees in the face of a situation in which we have to act now”.
In addition, they indicated that although a possible agreement can be reached with the truckers, the measure will be filed anyway.
“The damage has already been done and the accusation will be presented as soon as we have it ready and this is not an issue only of Christian Democracy, this has been raised by the opposition with great force,” added DC deputy, Iván Flores, who confirmed that the writing of the text has already been commissioned.
“The damage has already been done and we have a high cost, shortages, a national setback. It is not an issue only of the DC, the opposition has raised it with great force, “he said.
UDI called to be consistent
Senator UDI Juan Antonio Coloma called on the Christian Democrats to “be consistent” with their actions and to “condemn violence wherever it comes from”
“Do not take advantage of a minister who has been in office for a few weeks and who is doing everything possible to lift this strike,” he added.
Progressive Convergence asks to leave double standard
The Socialist, Radical and PPD parties, grouped in the Progressive Convergence, criticized the government’s actions and asked to leave the double standard before the stoppage of truckers.
“We urge the Government and the Ministry of the Interior to end their double standard and exercise authority in the face of the notable abuse made by transport employers and their employees attached to this mobilization, who hinder free transit and affect the timely supply“they said in a statement.
And they added that “this condescending attitude of the Government is clearly not the same with which it faces other situations of social protest.”
In turn, Senator PPD Felipe Harboe said that “Chile cannot be on its knees before a union, that is not acceptable, we demand that the President of the Republic comply with his constitutional obligation to respect security, freedom, respect for the rule of law and public order, especially in a state of catastrophe, to defend the great The majority of Chileans do not have to be watching this show, which also transcends borders. “
