Firefighters from Santiago worked in several communes in the Metropolitan region and deployed after a report of a strong smell of gas in different areas.
Dozens of Radio Bío Bío auditors reported the same situation, which mobilized firefighters from Estación Central, San Miguel and Santiago, among others.
However, the radius in which it was perceived was greater, including Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Cerrillos, Quinta Normal, Maipú, Lo Prado and Ñuñoa, among others.
Through the SoSafe app, hundreds of users reported the situation, according to the Santiago Fire Department.
In response, through said platform, Ñuñoa Firefighters preliminarily indicated that it would be a toxic cloud in the western sector, as a result of a gas leak at the Indura plant in the Cerrillos district.
Meanwhile, the Santiago Fire Department responded to users in the same way that said leak had already been controlled.
For its part, from the Delegation of the Province of Santiago, they recommended “closing doors and windows. Firefighters Metropolitano Sur reports a toxic cloud that is moving between communes, originating in the western sector of the capital, ”they said via Twitter.
