Minsal reports 1,966 new infections and 63 deaths in the last day – Coronavirus – 24 hours

The Ministry of Health delivered this Sunday a new balance on the situation of the coronavirus in the country, reporting 1,966 new cases and 63 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this the total of 409,974 infections since the beginning of the pandemic, in addition to 11,244 confirmed deaths because of the disease.

Of the new cases, 1,277 had symptoms, 616 were asymptomatic and 73 not notified.

On the other hand, it is considered that around the whole country there are 16,146 active cases, while 382,584 people have already recovered.

Regarding the number of people hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, this figure reaches the 960, while 718 are connected to mechanical ventilation and 142 in critical condition.

In addition, it was reported that there are 535 mechanical fans available nationwide, in conjunction with 10,388 total seats in the 155 enabled residences throughout the country.

Finally, they announced that in the last 24 hours there were 34,769 PCR tests, with a positivity figure reaching 5.65%, being in its entirety 2,400,522 exams performed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Carabineros reported that in the last 24 hours, more than one and a half million permits were issued temporary for quarantine areas.

As reported by the institution 1,593,294 permits were issued. Of the total 1,362,492 were for purchases, 60,720 to attend health centers and 44,869 to support the elderly.

Remember that a large part of the Metropolitan region is in quarantine during the weekend, since in the Transition phase the weekend returns to confinement.

It was also reported that 2,470 people were detained for not respecting sanitary measures imposed by the Ministry of Health.

Of the total number of detainees, 1,791 people were apprehended outside of the curfew hours, of which 753 corresponded to the Metropolitan region and 1,038 to regions.

During hours outside the curfew, 679 people were arrested, 188 in the Metropolitan region and 491 in regions.
