A fact related to the pandemic has been released in Italy, where three patients with COVID-19 generated a scandal and even bit medical personnel to flee the scene. The group of patients was of Nigerian nationality.

According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the incident occurred last Saturday inside the Celio Military Hospital. The patients had been referred from a reception center, after they tested positive for PCR.

However, they detail, that day the people were not satisfied with the opinion of the doctors, who did not discharge them because they were carriers of the virus.

This is how an altercation was generated in the place, since people broke desks, beds and other furniture. Along with that, they attacked security personnel and health officials, using bites.

Although none of them were seriously injured, all of them will have to quarantine for 14 days on suspicion of having contracted COVID-19.

The dispute lasted about half an hour and the Nigerians had to be restrained by police and military personnel who were at the scene.

They were all arrested and sent to a prison; in the next few days they could even be accused of endangering public health.

The situation was analyzed by the Italian Defense Minister, Lorenzo Guerini, who described what happened as “a serious and inadmissible fact.”

“Everything returned to normal immediately thanks to the prompt intervention of military personnel and the forces of order,” he concluded.
