In addition, the Health Authority reported 58 new cases, with the region reaching 9,739 accumulated cases. Regarding the details, he pointed out “1 from La Serena, 36 from Coquimbo, 01 from Illapel, 01 from Los Vilos, 02 from Salamanca, 14 from Ovalle, 01 from Monte Patria and 02 from Punitaqui.”
On the occasion, in addition, he reiterated the call to the population “for this weekend I want to reinforce the call to the communes that are in quarantine, that is, La Serena, Coquimbo and Ovalle, so that people can make good use of their temporary permits and leave only when strictly necessary ”, explained García.
Regarding the balance of the network, Dr. Alejandra Álvarez, Assistant Director of Assistance Management of the Coquimbo Health Service, highlighted the number of beds available. “Of the 1,202 beds currently endowed, 269 are available. And in relation to the beds in the Critical Patient Units, we have 15 ICU beds, which are those with mechanical ventilators, and 14 ICUs. Units with 82% and 78% occupancy, respectively, “he said.
Finally, the authority delivered the report of patients hospitalized for Covid-19 in the region. “We have 134 people hospitalized as a result of the virus, of which 31 are seriously ill and connected to mechanical ventilation. Also, I would like to add that today we have 287 patients in home hospitalization, of which 200 are infected with Covid-19 ”.
