A total of 58 people were arrested this morning by Carabineros, after being surprised when they were holding a clandestine party -during curfew hours- in a house in San Miguel.

The uniformed police went to the scene after being alerted by telephone calls from neighbors, who reported annoying noises around 3 in the morning.

Captain Sebastián Caro, patrol officer of the Santiago Sur Prefecture, explained that when they arrived at the house – which was rented especially for the party – they found loud music and massive consumption of alcoholic beverages.

In the lively event there were also no major health security measures. “Many of these people did not have masks, they did not keep social distancing”, explained the officer, who added that “at first they were very hostile, but when they saw the large contingent that arrived and the support that was provided for this procedure, they were not there was nothing else but to give the facilities to the Carabineros staff ”.

The detainees were 18 men and 40 women, all Chileans of legal age. One of the party organizers explained that the activity had “a charitable purpose”, since they needed “to collect 10 million pesos to go to the aid of a friend”, according to he told the police.
