This Thursday, the Ministry of Health reported a new balance on the situation of the health crisis in the country due to the spread of Covid-19.

Regarding this, in addition to the daily figures, the Government confirmed what other health organizations had advanced: Bed occupancy at the country level reached 78%, while in regions it is approaching the limit.

The Metropolitan region shows high figures in all the services of its different sectors. The busiest are the North Metropolitan Health Service (93%) and Central (94%).

Iquique, in the Tarapacá region, also shows bed occupancy figures that concern health authorities. As reported this day, the local service is at 95% utilization.

Meanwhile, in the region of The Araucanía, its Salud Norte service is 100% occupied in terms of beds.

Regarding this situation, Minister Jaime Mañalich said that Chile faces a unique challenge in which the collaboration of citizens is essential in complying with the restrictive measures decreed by the Government.

“We are facing a unique challenge and that is why we must establish a relationship of trust and the agents of the State to overcome this pandemic,” he said.

“Without that collaboration, it is not enough. There is a community responsibility of all ”, he concluded.
