The Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, announced the extension of quarantine in six communes in which the measure began to be applied last Tuesday.

In Santiago, Quilicura, Recoleta, Cerrillos, the urban area of ​​Antofagasta and Mejillones will extend the quarantine for seven days from Tuesday at 22:00.

The Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Arturo Zúñiga, announced that on Wednesday it will be confirmed whether in the communes where the quarantine began to take effect on Friday, the measure will also be extended.

The Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours there were registered 1,197 cases, of which 222 are asymptomatic. The death toll rose to 323, with 11 people killed during the last day.

The Metropolitan Region concentrates more than 80% of new cases. “The situation in Santiago has us extremely concerned and busy,” said Health Minister Jaime Mañalich.

On the other hand, the authorities announced that in the last 24 hours there was a new exam record with 13,373 completed.
