The mayor of Ñuñoa, Andrés Zarhi, announced this Monday the suspension of the activities of National Holidays in the commune before the advance of the coronavirus pandemic.
Through a statement, the community authority confirmed that The XXI version of the Chilean Party will not be held, which would take place at the National Stadium between Thursday, September 17 and Sunday, September 20.
Zarhi stated that there are no sanitary conditions to carry out the event, that gathered more than 35 thousand people every day during the past year.
“In normal times, at this time we began to organize this massive event that brings together thousands of ñuñoínos and people from other communities, so we believe that the most sensible thing is to make this situation transparent, because many merchants plan their annual income with this party, “he said.
The mayor confirmed that this party implies an expense of 700 million pesos for the municipality, generating income close to 100 million pesos.
