Hand Wash is a free mobile application that can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store for use on Samsung smart watches, such as the Galaxy Watch Active2.

One of the simplest but most important disease control measures is proper and consistent hand washing, as experts at the global level have announced this at the height of this situation and the World Health Organization (WHO) itself.

For this reason, and to make this task easier to remember, Samsung launched an application for its smartwatch called “Hand Wash,” which serves to monitor and create alerts that allow you to wash your hands constantly and thereby protect your health.

The application is available in the Galaxy Store for free, and although it is currently only available in English, it can already be downloaded in Chile for smart watches such as the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2.

Daniel Kim, Mobile Accessories Product Manager at Samsung Electronics Chile, emphasizes that mobile devices along with applications have evolved to support all kinds of everyday activities. “Using applications such as handwashing on smartwatches shows that mobile devices today are ideal companions not only for entertainment, but also for sports and health. This shows how they have progressed over time, reaching goals as important as prevention in this global situation.“.

Despite a growing awareness of hand washing, this includes an increase in routine, and these changes require little discipline. For this reason, handwashing monitors the progress of handwashing, and also creates personalized alerts, while at the same time collecting numbers, collecting statistics on this issue to monitor daily washing trends. In addition, it shows the elapsed time since the last wash in order to give users a sense of anxiety regarding their hygiene in real time.

The application helps to periodically remind the user that each wash is exhaustive for 20 seconds, in accordance with WHO recommendations, and comes with pre-set reminders that users can customize to suit their needs and schedules.

Each time a user launches a wash sequence, the application tracks the time and provides users with feedback. For example, check the elapsed time: five seconds to open the tap and apply soap, and 20 seconds to wash hands. If users skip some of the scheduled reminders, they will also notify you immediately.

Other applications that will accompany you daily

The head also notes that there are other applications that can make this period more difficult, and which can be used with smart watches and smartphones.

Samsung Health is one of them with which you can have a personal trainer, creating various exercises that include various disciplines, such as yoga, which helps to control good sleep and take into account water consumption, among other functions. It is available on the Play Store, Galaxy Store and App Store for free for smartphones and smart watches.
