More than 100 million people already use this tool every day, which is currently exclusive to schools, governments and companies.
The technology giant Google, a subsidiary of the American multinational Alphabet, will offer its Meet video conferencing service “free for everyone”, according to a statement published Wednesday on the company’s official blog.

Until now this service was exclusively for schools, governments and companies. Google indicates that currently about 6 million companies and organizations already have access to Meet, as well as more than 120 million students and teachers.

The California-based company notes that use of the platform, which it describes as “very secure,” has increased 30-fold since January. It also details that more than 100 million people use Meet every day, which translates to 3,000 million minutes of video calls.
The statement highlights that among the available functions of the tool will be simple programming, screen sharing, real time subtitles and layouts tailored to the preferences of the user in question, including “expanded tile view.”
