In conjunction with the National Forest Corporation (Conaf), the Agriculture Minister Antonio Walker announced the opening of 21 units of the National System of State Protected Wild Areas, distributed in seven regions of the country.
“In a first stage, we are making these units available with the aim of giving people an alternative of well-being, taking into account their comprehensive health, since it is proven that contact with nature has broad benefits, both for physical and mental health. We are doing this responsibly and it follows a gradual plan to open the units, “said Walker.
The provision will take effect from this Monday, May 4 and its objective is to have all 21 units open to the public by the end of the month in a gradual phased plan.
The Conaf’s executive director, José Manuel Rebolledo, He stressed that “protecting the health of our rangers and our visitors is our main concern. For this reason, we have worked very seriously and responsibly on a gradual opening plan that includes all the safeguard measures to guarantee protection. ”

– La Chimba National Reserve (Antofagasta)
– Paposo Norte Natural Monument (Antofagasta)
– Cachagua Island Natural Monument (Valparaíso)
– Dead China National Reserve (La Araucanía)
– Nalcas National Reserve (La Araucanía)
– Corcovado National Park (The lakes)
– Palena Lake National Park (The lakes)
– Magdalena Island National Park (Aysén)
– Guamblin Island National Park (Aysén)
– Melimoyu National Park (Aysén)
– Katalalixar National Reserve (Aysén)
– Lake Rosselot National Reserve (Aysén)
– Lago Las Torres National Reserve (Aysén)
– Las Guaitecas National Reserve (Aysén)
