He also stressed that despite the increase in PCR tests to detect the disease, the positivity rate has decreased.
“The number of positives in PCR tests has been decreasing, which is a reason to look optimistic. The fact of testing more and the number of people who test positive has been decreasing is a very good indication, “he emphasized.
“Hospital capacity is not at its critical level”
In addition, he appreciated that in Chile there is still a good hospital capacity to care for the infected who are aggravated.
“Until now the hospital capacity is not at its critical level and it has not approached its critical levels either, only one region approached for a couple of days, but it seems to have stabilized in Magellan,” Pardow said.
“The rest of Chile seems to be with a hospital capacity below the critical level, so there is still no concern that the system will collapse”he highlighted.
