Everything seemed to be going well, however, last April the minor began to show severe respiratory problems, alerting the staff and family.
That is why they carried out the coronavirus test and, unfortunately, the worst news was confirmed: Erin had caught the disease.
“Apparently, when he was recovering from the second operation, someone brought the virus to the hospital. The doctors did the coronavirus test because something was wrong ”, stated his father, Wayne Bates.
This was how the baby had to return to the Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. While the prognosis was again reserved, again there was a happy ending.
This was due to the fact that over the days Erin was showing quite positive advances in her clinical picture and, finally, on April 24, she was removed from confinement.
“Erin has overcome the virus, which is a hope for people with previous illnesses, because she had them,” Wayne said.
So remarkable was the fact that the minor left the ICU to applause from the medical staff. Without going any further, many maintained that they had never seen such a recovery in their lives.
Although the baby left that section of the hospital, for the moment she continues to rest in the place, awaiting the check-ups of her heart condition.
Given this, the girl’s father took advantage of making a call to people who “still do not take this disease seriously.”
