The health authority confirmed this Tuesday another 40 cases of Covid-19 in the Coquimbo Region, with whom the number of total infections reaches 11,915, of which 634 remain active.
These are patients detected in the communes of Coquimbo (17), Los Vilos (06), Ovalle (06), La Serena (05), Andacollo (03) and Monte Patria (01).
The number of people hospitalized with a positive diagnosis for the coronavirus is 87 and 31 of them are seriously ill and connected to mechanical ventilation.
The occupancy of critical beds in the ICU is 82% to date, with 14 available, and in the ICU it reaches 66%.
Low occupancy of residences
The seremi of Health, Alejandro García, called confirmed patients with suspected contagion by Covid-19 to “opt for one of our health residences, which will allow us to correctly isolate and prevent the spread of the virus.”
The strategy registers an occupancy of 23% as of this Tuesday, September 29.
