3,379 new cases and 85 deaths from covid reported: ICU occupation reaches its highest level in 6 months | National

The Ministry of Health reported this Monday 3,779 new cases of covid-192,278 of them with symptoms and 1,334 asymptomatic.

The total figure reaches 730,888 cases, with 25,589 assets and 686,374 recovered.

In particular, the regions with the most new cases are the Metropolitan region (697), Los Lagos region (556), Maule region (373), Bio Bío region (358) and La Araucanía region (321).

Regarding the deaths, they were registered 85 new deceased, reaching a total of 18,537.

According to the Laboratory Network, 58,709 CRP have been reported, with positivity of 6.44%. In detail, 3 regions register positivity above 10%, well above the average: Araucanía (13%), Los Ríos (12%) and Maule (11%).

To date, 1,456 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, 1,250 of them connected to mechanical ventilation. This is the highest level in 6 months, since July 30, 2020 (1,463), in the middle of the first wave of the pandemic, whose peak was recorded on June 28 of last year, with 2,129 patients in the ICU.

In relation to the Integrated Health Network, 196 critical beds are available for patients who require it. The figure is equivalent to 92.1% occupancy, practically equal to the 92.4% reported yesterday.

Until yesterday, Sunday at 10:00 p.m., the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) reported 56,771 vaccinated people. 10,352 have already gotten their second dose.

On the other hand, the number of available Health Residences was registered in 160, with 11,919 places. And as of today they have 8,155 users, considering all regions of the country.
