A total of 31 people were arrested after participating in a Golden Wedding celebration in Arica, a city that remains in quarantine.
The event occurred in the parish San jose worker, a commune that has been restricted for more than 100 days.
In moments when detectives from the Arica Criminal Investigation Brigade (Bicrim) carry out inspection patrols in various sectors of the city, they realized that noises coming from a church, so they proceeded to enter the place, where they found the presence of several people who were participating in a religious service.
This was coordinated with personnel from the Regional Ministerial Health Secretariat (Seremi) of this region, in order for the health authority to monitor what was happening in the place.
Arica has not been out of quarantine for more than 100 days and all kinds of mass gatherings are prohibited in the wake of the covid-19 pandemicTherefore, the detectives proceeded to control the adults who were in the church on Chapiquiña street, who were arrested in flagrante delicto for violation of Article 318 of the Penal Code.
It was reported that it was the celebration by 50 years of a marriage in the sector, organized by relatives.
There were a total of 31 people, 28 adults and three minors, who were gathered in the parish, for which the prosecutor on duty Erika Romero was informed, who instructed that all people were released, all being warned by Article 26 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Also, the Seremi de Salud ordered sanitary summaries and individual offenses those responsible for this massive quarantine gathering.
