WWE 2K20 was a failure in both sales and reviews. The constant bugs presented by the game earned it lousy reviews and it was considered one of the worst releases of 2019, so the company 2k Games made an announcement to avoid another disaster like that.

The Rockstar subsidiary decided that this 2020 there will be no launch, that is, WWE 2K21 will be canceled in order that the next title of the franchise is better programmed and avoid the shame that the previous installment meant.

“As part of the commitment, we will extend the production period and we will not launch a WWE simulator this year. We want to ensure that the development team can create a great game that will entertain our most veteran fans as well as those who enter this franchise, “2K said in a statement.

The next WWE 2K will be developed by Visual Concepts, who is coming to replace Yuke, the makers of 2K20 and will have Patrick Gilmore as their new executive producer, who has been behind installments like Aladdin for Sega Genesis and Medal of Honor.
