He 52nd Epidemiological Report of the Ministry of Health published this Saturday, revealed that to date the death toll in the country due to the covid-19 pandemic could be 16,688, considering confirmed and suspected cases according to information from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS).
Thus, to the 12,254 deaths reported today by the health authorities in the daily report, another 4,434 would be added who are awaiting the results of their PCR tests.
At the regional level, deaths from coronavirus in Chile, between confirmed and suspected, are:

– Tarapacá: 265
– Antofagasta: 651
– Atacama: 84
– Coquimbo: 281
– Valparaíso: 1,296
– Metropolitan: 11,711
– O’Higgins: 589
– Maule: 458
– Ñuble: 147
– Biobío: 455
– Araucanía: 253
– The Rivers: 40
– The Lakes: 168
– Aysén: 5
– Magellan: 98
On the other hand, it was reported that, until September 17, there were 499,842 cases of coronavirus in the country between confirmed and suspected.
The highest number of infections is concentrated in people between 30 and 44 years old, being 30.1% of the total, followed by those between 45 and 64 years old, with 29%.
