According to the Carabineros, the subject, identified as Mauricio Sandoval, attacked his partner with a knife after an argument.
The attack was stopped by the 14-year-old son of the victim, who, after hearing his mother’s cries for help, came to his defense with a stick, at which point the aggressor escaped, being captured minutes later by personnel from the Third Police Station.

Prosecutor Luis Soriano, in charge of the case, explained that the detainee “does not have a criminal record or a history of prior violence, but given the seriousness” of the attack “and the vital risk that the pattern of intimidation carried out against the victim. , the judge, Juan Araya, was asked for preventive detention “, which was granted by the court.
The judge set a 90-day period for investigation.
