The health authority delivered a new health report on the local situation of the Coronavirus this Friday. In relation to the figures at the regional level, 14 new cases of the disease were reported.
“As for the detail of new cases, for today we must report 14 cases of Covid_19, 7 of them from the commune of La Serena, 4 from Coquimbo, 1 from Los Vilos, 1 from Andacollo and 1 from Monte Patria. With this, we reached a total of 12,663 accumulated cases, of which 123 remain with active contagion at the regional level ”, said the Minister of Health Alejandro García.
On the other hand, the Sanitary Residences strategy has 32% occupancy, with 115 rooms available throughout the region for those who need a place for safe isolation.
On the occasion, the health authority reiterated the importance of the population celebrating Halloween as a family and at home.
“For this weekend I want to reinforce that Halloween celebrations take place in the family environment, prevent children from leaving their homes to ask for sweets, since it represents a high risk of contagion of Covid-19,” he said.

The director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, Edgardo González, delivered the balance of the Assistance Network, informing that today the occupation of beds reaches 74%. “Of the 1,166 current staff, 304 are available. Regarding the beds in the Critical Patient Units, we have 2 in the ICU, which are those that have mechanical ventilators, and 6 ICUs, ”he said.
Regarding the report of patients hospitalized by Covid-19 in the region, the authority reported that “36 people remain hospitalized as a result of the virus, of which 8 are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation,” he explained.
Finally, in relation to the report of health personnel affected by the virus, the director (S) reported that 20 officials of the Health Service and hospitals that have tested positive for the virus, and 39 are in preventive quarantine. While, in Primary Health Care (PHC), again no officials who have tested positive for the virus are reported and 15 are kept in quarantine.
