At various points in the Los Lagos region, food handlers protested against the termination of the contract between Junaeb and the company Dipralsa, in charge of assembling the baskets for the benefited students during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Traffic cuts were registered in the northern access to Puerto Montt, in the Chacao sector, in the Puelche cove, on the Austral highway and in Osorno, by the workers who accused of being in complete uncertainty regarding their job sources after the arrival of another company.

This was indicated by one of the representatives of the company, who specified that although they were told that they will keep the contracts, they fear that they will not be with the same benefits and conditions that they had with Dipralsa.

As they specify, the end of the contract was due to non-compliance in the delivery of food baskets, a situation that would have been rectified in the second distribution of the benefit.

Given the interruption of traffic and the failure to comply with the measure to avoid crowds, police personnel, acted on the spot with the water-launch car and dispersed the protesters.

Major Alexis Vicencio explained that the north access had around 60 women gathered with burning tires, proceeding to dissolve the protest, achieving detain 13 people, 11 women and two men.
