Messi’s magic strike
Messi’s goal for Barca was just out of this world, as he showed his balance, determination and skill in the first half with this scandalous goal to make it 2-0:

But it wasn’t all perfect for Messi, and it actually got a little scary. While winning the penalty against Napoli due to the foul from Koulibaly, he fell in pain and was a few good minutes down. He jumped in front of the defender, sacrificing his body and getting a powerful kick to the leg that was meant to be a ball license. Players were warned on the sidelines to come up for Messi, but he was able to continue. He will be hurt, but he should be good to move forward.

Lewandowski dominates in the air
The Polish striker just scores and scores again. His two goals here helped fight an outmatched Blues side as he continued his career campaign with 53 goals through 44 games in all leagues. He also ran Karim Benzema (who scored on Friday) to take only fourth place on the all-time Champions League scoring list on 65 goals.

Remarkable performances

Review some of the notable performances of the day, one of which is the worst and 10 perfection:

Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona
The Dutch midfielder will probably not get much praise for not scoring, but he was great in the middle of the park. He should have had Messi assist on a goal that was called up, but he was cool on the ball, helping to switch fields like a pro and rarely a down moment. Rating: 8

Kalidou Koulibaly, Napoli
Not a great display by the center-back – who is being targeted by Premier League teams in this transfer window – especially when it came to the third goal. He gave up a penalty kick because he did not know where Messi was, and that was the goal that ended all hopes of a comeback. Rating: 3

Andreas Chistensen, Chelsea
Not a great night for the Chelsea center back. He was slow to react, looked out of his league and could do almost nothing against Bayern’s attack. Rating: 4
