Cardi B said she needs more ‘friends’ like Ellen DeGeneres because all her friends get her into ‘fights and problems’

Both music artist Cardi B and comedian Ellen DeGeneres will be talked about more often than ever in 2020. DeGeneres comes under fire after reports that both she and her production crew are rude and unsuitable on the job floor. And Cardi B’s “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion gets a lot of praise, criticism and eyebrows.

Now we look back at DeGeneres’ interview with Cardi B when Cardi was pregnant with her daughter, Kulture. Here’s what the rapper had to say to DeGeneres about being best friends.

DeGeneres has a hard run in 2020. Buzzfeed was the first to report that staff members of The Ellen DeGeneres Show experienced rude, insensitive, and sometimes racist behavior at the hands of production, reports Us Weekly. From there, the three executive producers of the show publicly excuse themselves.

“Over the course of nearly two decades, 3,000 episodes and employing more than 1,000 staff members, we have strived to create an open, safe and inclusive work environment,” the producers stated. “We are really passionate and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has a negative experience.”

It is also not only production that felt the heat. Staffers also questioned why DeGeneres did not step in. “I think the executive producers are embracing her and telling her, ‘Things are going great, everyone’s happy,’ and she just believes that, but it’s her responsibility to move on,” one former staff member from the show told Buzzfeed.

Cardi B appeared to have a great time during her performance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

While there are many hats off to DeGeneres after these accusations, some celebrities stand up for the comedy. And not every interview that DeGeneres has about the show has been a big hit, but Cardi B certainly seemed to have a great time. She appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018 for the first time.

At the beginning of Cardi’s appearance, DeGeneres and Cardi had funny jokes about Cardi’s name. “Do I add the B? Do I do Cardi B? Or just Cardi? I want to trade if I know you, ”DeGeneres asked playfully.

The jokes then switch over to Cardi’s appearances and pregnancies. And Cardi jokes about the dance moves she introduced at Coachella. “I was just trying to show the world how I got pregnant in the first place,” she remarks – and the audience went wild.

Cardi B remarked that she wanted to be friends with DeGeneres

At the end of the interview, it is clear that Cardi B and DeGeneres are making a friendly connection. DeGeneres then notes that she knew Cardi’s father’s father, Offset, because she helped him buy a car. And Cardi joked that she “wished she were friends” with DeGeneres so she could get a lot on a car, too.

“Well, now you are,” DeGeneres comments back. And they put the conversation through by talking about what kind of car Cardi wants. In addition, Cardi notes that she wants a Lamborghini truck, even though she is just a “professional passenger”.

“I will look up my friends and see if I can get you a Lamborghini truck,” DeGeneres adds.

“Look, I need friends like you,” laughs Cardi B. “All my friends just bring me into fights and trouble.”

‘I’m not. That’s not our friendship, ‘jokes DeGeneres. “Our friendship will be totally different, Cardi.”

It does not appear that Cardi spoke for or against DeGeneres in the course of today’s drama. But judging by this interview, we imagine she would go back to the show.
