A woman in Los Angeles was caught on camera yelling at staff in a Trader Joe’s after being asked to wear a face mask.
The unidentified woman had queued around 5:30 p.m. Friday with other shoppers the day the new store opened in North Hollywood.
Another buyer, John Conroy, told him he was wearing a mask in line. However, when he entered the store, Conroy said he took it off.
‘I saw her take off her mask after she entered the store; She was online for the record, so she was looking around, and she was very flamboyant about it, ” Conroy told DailyMail.com.
“I guess he had it out all the time because of all the signs.”
He said she was acting ‘deranged’.
The unidentified woman was caught on camera Friday afternoon ranting over masks.
Actor D. Giles captured the incident on camera and posted it on social media.
However, face masks were made mandatory in California in public spaces on June 18. People with respiratory conditions are exempt.
The store had a sign outside informing all customers that they must wear a mask.
The woman was confronted by another buyer and exploded with rage, drawing the attention of the managers who asked her to leave.
“Damn Democratic pigs!” He yelled at the staff and other customers, calling them “sheep.”
She continued: ‘That man harassed me for not wearing a face mask. I have a respiratory problem. My doctor would not let me wear a mask.
‘So if someone harasses me to wear a mask, you are violating federal law.
‘Do you understand?’
The incident was captured on camera by actor D. Giles.
Merchant Joe’s told all customers that they had to wear a mask to enter the store
The incident started when employees asked the woman to wear a mask or leave
He yelled at the employees who explained that he needed to leave the store.
The woman is then asked to leave the store, and asked several times.
Conroy, producer and film director, told DailyMail.com that he was sure it was deliberate provocation.
“I was online to register in the middle of the store and I realized when he came in because he took off his mask and picked up the phone to start recording videos of everyone in the store,” he told DailyMail.com.
‘Then I saw her grab the basket and start “shopping,” but she was really moving to get closer to people.
‘A few minutes later, the screaming started in the icy hallway behind me, at least two employees were already with her and she was yelling,’ This man harassed me and are you telling me to go? ‘
‘I was savagely indicating an older man shaking his head.
“The employees were surrounding her at the time, they kept calm and asked her to leave and she screamed about ‘this man harassed me for the masks! ”
“And then he started shouting profanity, his rights are being violated, etc.”
John Conroy, a Los Angeles-based producer, writer, and director, witnessed the entire incident.
Merchant Joe’s has not responded to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
“I think 100 percent that she went there just to start a confrontation,” he said.
‘His basket remained empty, it was very obvious about the way he was trying to instigate someone to say something.
“Which didn’t take long, especially since Trader Joe’s is known for being very demanding on its security policies, such as masks, distancing, customer limits, they preceded the local government in all of that.”
“As soon as someone told her to put on a mask, she went crazy because she was there for that.”
He added: ‘Because she took out her camera and recorded the crowd right after removing the mask, I got the impression that she was set up and meant for the QAnon / conspiracy crowd, as a way of saying,’ Check this out you I will show how oppressed we are. ”
