BYU FOOTBALL: Why the Cougars and Washington will not take the bait of the Washington Huck Keys

The BYU has enjoyed a great relationship with the PS-12 since independence as a scheduled partner, but the power play over the weekend to invite the BAU to play in Seattle and Washington Washington was nothing more than a dog and pony show.

When Bruce Feldum (not (Fox Sports)) got the move to announce BYU, he rejected the game on Sunday, fulfilling the mission.

The whole idea was dumb from the beginning. It was a public affair and BYU was not biting.

In reality, Pack-12 wants to put Utah against Washington. It was fun to pick the 8th BYU in the process by offering the road without any payment, forced to swallow the Pack-12 health protocol and the game could be canceled on Thursday.

Pack-12, in a devastating season where its August and September decisions cheated its athletes of opportunities to compete, was looking for a way to propel Reagan to No. 9 on the ladder.

There was no way that Kalani Sitak was going to put his players in that position, regardless of the headband worn by his quarterbacks, in any team, anytime, without announcing at any time.

There’s a feeling in BYU’s camp that Zack Wilson’s forehead poster is OK. Start kicking in the competitive interest and there’s a response “Heck yes, let’s go, let’s bring it on.”

Then hit reality.

For commercial purposes, the hastily arranged BYU in Washington sport, the same weekend athletic director Tom Holmo announced a shortage of 20 20 million and asked supporters for donations, it’s an evening. For BYU then there is no shared TV money it just added insult to injury.

BYU was already committed to playing the state of Utah and Arizona in Gust when Pack-12 was canceled, and with it, the money promised for a budget.

Since COVID-19 blew up a great schedule, Holmo has designed BYU to get the season. He has plenty of takers and he has a lot of athletic directors who have refused to play the Cougars when he went to the polls and Wilson proved uncontrollable. Those palisades are not public knowledge.

And BYU has scheduled games that just don’t seem right and haven’t been done as agreed. There are other potential games that can be added to the docket at any time. It will bring revenue to sports. The last puff game at Washington, even if canceled could put those potential games at risk.

If Holmoe wanted, he could give BYU 12 game schedule right now today.

But it must be true.

In a tweet posted Tuesday morning, Holmo said:

“We’re open to looking for options to add football games, and throughout the season. There are various factors that need to be considered in the research process, including location, time for the game, the likelihood of its game, the test protocol that is in place, and what to do to restart the game.

“With nine games played at this stage of the season and ranked nationally, we’re in discussions for possible matchups with other teams on normal open dates, for the benefit of both teams.”

If you read between the lines, Holmo Pack-12 will reject the Washington move, which I would call insane terms. He is also saying that there is no need to bring in some money for both teams – and to participate in a league from the league headquartered in California that only imposes a curfew at 10 p.m. On its citizens.

ESPN No. 7 Cincinnati vs. No. 8 BYU on Primetime Matchup What does it do for everyone, as opposed to the sick-adult proposed and now irrelevant BYU-Washington overtaking.

On the eve of the release of the CFP rankings on Tuesday to challenge BYU to play, some polls could help pack-12 sell its poor inventory of league games among voters. After giving a detailed account of the differences between the BYU and PAC-12 (Utah) test protocols by Deseret News, PAC-12 / Washington asks Washington if it is a weak challenge to come. Isn’t it cool to force BYU to “adapt” to its delayed and ruined health plan for the Pack-2 football season?

Did not work.

Will never.
