Eric Bledsoe tested positive for COVID-19.
The Milwaukee Bucks guard told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports that he hopes to join his teammates in the NBA bubble at Disney World soon.
“He doesn’t feel any symptoms and he really feels good,” Haynes reported Thursday. “Hope to get here as soon as possible.”
Bledsoe key for Bucks
Bledsoe, the Bucks’ starting point guard and current member of the NBA’s All-Defensive team, is key to Milwaukee’s hopes of winning a championship. Bledsoe averaged 15.4 points, 5.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds before the NBA’s COVID-19 parenthesis.
The first-place Bucks have the best record in the NBA and are the favorites to leave the East on the NBA scheduled restart.
Bledsoe joins a growing list of high-profile NBA players to announce positive tests for COVID-19 since teams began reporting to the bubble last week, including Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook and forward the Sacramento Kings Harrison Barnes.
Barnes joined teammates Buddy Hield, Alex Len and Jabari Parker in the positive tests. Hield and Parker have passed the quarantine and joined the Kings in the bubble.
